In this new age of wanting financial freedom we all want to find a way to make money online. One way to make residual income is with affiliate marketing. What exactly is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is where you take a product (usually an intellectual product) that someone has produced and market it for him or her. You usually make a percentage of that whatever you sell. But so few people make any money affiliate marketing because they approach it the wrong way.

First you have to find a product to market. There are many places to find such products. There is ClickBank, JVZoo, and many other places to find affiliate products. If you just Google "affiliate marketing sites" you will probably find thousands upon thousands of places that have affiliate opportunities. Most of the gurus in the marketplace also have affiliate programs. Some are easy and cheap to get into.

Then you need to pick your product. Be careful. There are a lot of scammers out there. Don't go spending tons of money on something that you feel is a scam. Make sure you check out the product that you want to be a part of before you start marketing it.

There are many affiliate marketers that have their own marketing material and when you get someone to opt-in to your offer the email goes to the affiliate owners list. You don't want this. You want to build your own email list. You need to have your own capture page to capture their email address. You need to have your own marketing campaign. Why you ask? If you are one in thousands marketing the same thing you won't get very much money because you are splitting the money among many people. However, if you have your own marketing and your own list you stand out in the crowd and you are much more likely to get sales.

You can make a good residual income with affiliate marketing. It is one of the best ways to get started making a residual income online because it is fairly simple. You don't have to create a product of your own. You have one already created for you. If you want to make a residual income with and affiliate program you have to be smart and know what you are doing and you can make money off not only one affiliate product but many of them. Once you get good at affiliate marketing then you will want to expand you horizons and either get into a network marketing program or make your own product.
