How Can I Start A Business When I Have Little Disposable Cash?

By Rosemary Nonny Knight

Isn't it surprising how little disposable cash there is today? You may be earning a great deal in your current career but still the idea of leaving it behind to do your own thing will fill you with dread because you have a lot of commitments for the money you generate at the moment.

However, you want to give up the cubicle and go out on your own, how can you get started? Here are a few business ideas to consider.

  1. Affiliate marketing - This may be time intensive to set up as you build an audience that wants to hear your recommendations. However, it is a model you can start for very little outlay. Ultimately, this is just you promoting someone else's products or services. And every time someone buys as a result of what you have recommended, you get a commission of the sale. The commission can be greater for information products so looking at places like ClickBank may be an idea to see what you are interested enough in to talk about to others. However, this is a model that works for physical products as well. So, start to be conscious of things you use every day, there is the chance that you could promote it to others for a commission and effectively monetize your life.

  1. Network Marketing - Again, you promote other people's products and you make a commission from the sale. You get to build a team to support you in this model so you make a commission on their sales as well and you get the opportunity to build and lead a team and support them in fulfilling their business dreams as well. Remember to only promote products you believe in enough to use yourself.

  1. Sell Yourself or Someone Else - Do you have a skill someone would pay for? The chances are that you do though you may not realize it. Ask your relatives or people who know you well - You might be surprised what you hear. And then you are set up to start your business with nothing more than you. Or can you find someone that does have a marketable skill and so you can act as broker between the buyer and the seller. Think out of the box here - Do you have access to talent that would willingly do work and can you market them? A lot of people have skills that they are unable to market and you might find that you are pretty good at this.
