Newbie Internet Marketer Article Writer-Where to Start Some Misconceptions

By C. A. Perez

Where to start

Without a product to sell, an internet marketer and article writer cannot make money in Internet Marketing. So finding a niche might be a good place to start. Do you find yourself almost paralyzed into inactivity by all the different suggestions?

• "Find a niche, first!"

• "No, find something you are passionate about and the niche will follow!"

• "You must get the right keywords. Get keywords with traffic and some competition and the niche will follow."

Start anywhere

The truth is an internet marketer can start anywhere. I was somewhat confused by the difference between a niche and a product. There is a difference. A niche is a category, a subject, a group of products. We have a tendency to use the two words interchangeably. If you have experience in a particular niche, you are ahead of the game. You can speak and write with some authority.

What if you do not consider yourself an expert at anything? A newbie marketer can freeze at the thought of writing about any subject. Well, that is why God made the Internet, for the internet marketer, article writer and for researchers of all kinds. As an internet marketer, you can gather an assortment of facts and assemble them into an interesting article. You can learn to do "writing".

Guru Advice

Are you tired of Gurus telling you that their way is the only way? Some gurus say you should start to make money in internet marketing by doing this or doing that but most of them are wrong. You ask why. The answer is that there is not any one way to start a campaign that is why. Any number of factors can set the stage for choosing a campaign for a product.

Here are some of their suggestions:

• Find a niche first;"You can't do anything unless you have identified what your niche is."

• Write an article: "You must write a bunch of articles to get traffic to sell your product."

• Build a blog or website

• Find the right keywords

• Get the right domain name

• Go to forums and Social Networks and "brand" yourself (make a name for yourself).

Almost everyone that is a guru has an idea or a suggestion as to where to start in marketing whether it is your product or someone else's product. Most gurus do not emphasize any one thing to do first. That is not to say that their particular approach is bad. But, it may not be what you are comfortable with.

For instance, you can be walking down a park lane and see worm. Out of the blue or maybe it's the ground, you get this crazy idea about the possibility of selling something to do with worm farming.

Ignore the Gurus

Don't get hung up on the right way to start. Start with whatever you choose. As an internet marketer article writer you can write an article on any topic that interests you. When you finish, you can find keywords that will help rank your article. Later you can then edit your words to include those keywords.

In addition to the things you should do first, there are, of course, a host of subsequent things you must do to finish whatever you choose to do first.

• Search the Internet at store fronts to find a niche

• Sign up for Google AdWords

• Do PPC (Pay Per Click)

• Put AdSense on your weblog or site.

• Bookmark your site and your articles

As an example, suppose as an internet marketer you choose to search for a niche as your first task. Then you must decide whether to visit an affiliate network like ClickBank or Commission Junction to find vendors. The decision to choose a vendor can be based on a series of factors that also demand first choices: do I choose gravity over popularity, recurring commissions over non-recurring commissions, or choose referral percentage over commission percentage.

Your Way

The point is there is no one way to start. You might start a campaign one way this week and next week choose a different starting point. You can start anywhere you like. Two things stand out in this affiliate internet marketer process. You must act and you must follow through to completion.
