New places to holiday, new walks and new cultures? Do you enjoy finding new ways to do things, maybe learning a new hobby or sport? Are you inquisitive or have you lost you childhood inquisitiveness? The internet is a goldmine of information the more you surf the more exciting things you discover.
I have recently discovered a website offering free language courses, maybe as I progress the more advanced courses will be charged for, but currently I am studying the basics of Spanish. Many other languages are on offer. This will be helpful when we spend our winters in Spain, more about this later...
Lots of studies have now proved your brain functions better with use, like other muscles it is a question of use it or lose it! Recently a man of 106 broke the Guinness book of records, running 100 metres! We can't all be that fit but with the current growing figures of dementia victims I intend to keep my faculties in order as long as possible. With that in mind I am keeping my brain active taking exercise and eating healthily and enjoying the extra energy I gain. The "moving wallpaper" of TV is a thing of the past unless there is something I want to watch. My new way of life is much more interesting!
Beside this I have started a hobby business. Affiliate marketing is probably one of the simplest forms of online businesses. With the help of my current mentor I am learning new skills and improving others and growing my business.
Starting in a small way part-time reduces the pressure of earning a replacement income and you can therefore learn new techniques in a more relaxed manner without time pressure and enjoy the experience.
I am learning how to optimise my Facebook advertising and many other ways of finding customers, such as YouTube videos. There is always something new to learn or improve.
Now the reason I chose Spanish is because in a few weeks we will be on our way to Spain for a warmer winter. I will be able to continue with my business, because all I need is a laptop and internet connection.
So soon we will be spending sunny days exploring new beaches and places of interest even though it is winter. The summers will be spent back in England with family and friends.
Make your life exciting, exercise your brain cells and your body; surf the net, learn a new hobby and turn it into a business; or just enjoy it, or take up a sport. Life is what you make it, transform your life and have fun!
